Events:

• Latinamerican Physics School (Escuela Latinoamericana de Fisica, ELAF) on "Nonlinear Dynamics - From nm To km" in February /March 2005 in the city of Leticia in the Colombian Amazon. This is part of a prestigious series of summer schools initiated and still accompanied by Prof. Marco Moshinsky of Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico. The event in question will for the first time provide a forum on nonlinear dynamics in the north half of Latin America, thus meeting a strong demand among young researchers in this growing field. The venue has been chosen to bring active science to a region where tropical nature abounds but opportunities in higher education are still scarce. We are convinced that this event will form a major part of Colombia's contribution to the World Year of Physics 2005.
